kailey's FMP: Idea's

For this project the brief is that we can choose whatever medium of we media we like as long as it fits the guide lines.

This project will be are final major project for the year to showcase what we have learnt from this year of the course.

For this final project I had a couple idea's of what i would like to do:

a short relatively detailed animation

a highly simple animation in the style of the highly popular ASDF animations on you tube

a podcast with with my dad

an audio-book.

The idea's I had for this project are in various mediums that i would like to explore more into as in my sound and documentary project i enjoyed doing the narration and sound effects for them.

I have also been wanting to try to do animation work since the beginning of the year and this would be a good opportunity to learn how to.

For the animations as a drawing app I have been using FireAlpaca for over a year now and have gotten rather used to using it.

I was nervous to try animation but I recently found out that you can animate on this app and have done some research on it (this will be on my research page).

After looking into animation on FireAlpaca I feel a lot less worried about trying it and have successfully made a short simple animation using it.

As for the podcast or audio-book idea's i do have the recording equipment at home its just a matter of finding topics or something to read.

With a podcast there isn't a script you just talk about whatever you want and you are allowed to go on tangents.

Usually when me and my dad chat we talk about the random-est things possible which I think would make an interesting podcast in my opinion.

When reading the story of Ticci Toby for my Documentary my dad did say that I should make a podcast as he thinks I would be good at doing it.

From looking at the idea's i had i think that i would like to do either a podcast or an animation however at the current date (22/03/2020) the college has been closed so for the podcast where I need to edit it may be difficult as I don't have the software but i still would consider a podcast as an option, but at current i don't know if I can so i will have to find out at a later date.

Section 1: Rationale/Review (Level 2 approx 50 words, Level 3 approx 100 words)
In the other projects I have learnt how to film, work with audio, make my own audio and to edit all these components together, however in this final project I want to learn a new technique in media which is animation. I have always had an interest in animation and wanted to make my own since the beginning of the year. If I were to make an animation I would probably like to keep it short as it does take quite a long time to make as there are 24 frames per second which I may consider reducing however I will have to see when the time comes.
Section 2: Project Concept (Level 2 approx 100 words, Level 3 approx 200 words)
For this project I would like to do a short animation with an original character of mine. As for the concept of the animation I would like to something effective with music added to it, I have seen a couple of animations which are related to the song in the background on YouTube which I have wanted to try and make myself for a while and I would feel that this would be a good opportunity to try. So I aim to make a short animation music video of a sort since I don’t know how long I would be make it due to the amount of image I would need to draw each frame and there would be potentially be 24 frames per second but I may only have it being 12 if it still works to the quality I want it to be in the end. At the beginning I did have two idea’s one of them being an animation and the other was a podcast but I decided to do an animation since that is something I wanted to do for a long time and I recently found out how to and I figured that this would be a great opportunity to do it.
Section 3: Evaluation (Level 2 approx 50 words, Level 3 approx 50 words)
To record my animation I am planning to make it all using the drawing software firealpaca which as a mode where you can make the images slide show and change the frames per second and save it as a video which is really convenient for someone who is starting animation.

my Pitch for the FMP

i had to split my pitch into two video's

however i do ramble on a bit and it took a while for me to get a take so i settled on this one as i say at the beginning.
